A Community of Care and Faith
Centennial Albert United Church continues a long tradition of worship, fellowship, and community connection in Oshawa. We gather each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for worship led by our minister, Mark Sturman, whose thoughtful leadership encourages reflection, compassion, and spiritual growth.
Rooted in faith and guided by a spirit of caring and community, the congregation values hospitality, outreach, and supporting one another through all stages of life. Whether you are a longtime member, new to the area, or simply visiting, you are welcome to join us as we worship, learn, and grow together.

Our Mission Statement
To share God's love by creating a welcoming, caring and faith filled community where all people are valued and supported.
To follow the teachings of Jesus Christ through worship, compassion, service, and outreach within our community and throughout the world.
A Legacy of Unity
Centennial Albert United Church traces its roots to several earlier Methodist, Christian, and United Church congregations in Oshawa, reflecting nearly two centuries of worship, community service, and faith in the city.
One branch of its history began with the Oshawa Christian Church, organized in 1831 by Elder Thomas Henry. After meeting in homes and schoolrooms, the congregation built its first church near Richmond and Centre Streets in 1843. A larger Centre Street church was completed in 1875 and later became Centre Street United Church following church union in 1928.
In 1967, the Centre Street congregation merged with Westmount United Church to form Centennial United Church during Canada’s Centennial year.
Another important part of the church’s heritage came from Albert Street United Church, which began in 1910 as the South Oshawa Methodist Mission serving the growing south Oshawa community. A larger church building was completed at Albert Street and Olive Avenue in 1928, and the congregation became known for its strong sense of family and community outreach.
In 1996, Albert Street United Church amalgamated with Centennial United Church to form Centennial Albert United Church.
Today, Centennial Albert United Church continues the legacy of these earlier congregations through worship, fellowship, outreach, music, and community ministry in Oshawa.
